Landlord's not attending problems?
I have an assured shorthold lease,lasting 2 years that expires on the 1st April next year. The owner left us without a working shower for nine months, the elcetrics are buggered and the plumbing,the stables are falling apart and we have made them bearable.The conservatory leaks badly when it rains.He has been made aware of all this but not sorted it or discounted our rent,
He wanted us to pay 400k for it last week as now he wants to sell,he has now decided that as we told hime we dont want to buy, he is trying to accuss us of being behind on the rent and has made an appointment at the bank that I must attend so he can view my finances,then he will put the rent up and expect back pay from the 1st April.I feel that he is victimizating us,as we have improved his property in a lot of ways, he couldnt sell it at 350k 2 years ago thats why he rented it to us.Now he wants 400k and we won’t agree to that, he is accussing us of not paying the rent and eviction. He has had all the receipts for the repairs we have done and some of them were big, he knew every repair that needed doing, I still had to pay full rent and the repairs without being reinburst. He told me to get them fixed and he would reimburse but 18 months later nothing.
