Ok this is a bit of a long one, but I really need help with this one. Ok, here goes:
My mum is a property developer and my dad is a builder but has quite severe mental problems which means that he can’t leave the house and doesn’t trust a lot of people and therefore does not have a job. A few years back they bought their dream house which is in the middle of nowhere, no neighbours (which my dad loves). It was a shell when they bought it and my dad has been working at building an extension adding floors, new roof, windows doors, generally making it in to an amazing house that he plans to spend the rest of his life in.
He dreams of doing odd building projects for his mate who is a businessman, living off the land and staying in that house forever. My mum wants to get rich which is why she got in to the property developing business. She has four properties all with a mortgage, one being the dream house my dad lives in, two she is renting out and the rent just covers the mortgage rates, and the fourth she lives in herself since splitting with my dad.
Last year she was rushed to hospital with heart failure, now this wasn’t a clot that could be removed, this was something rare where her heart shrunk and would not pump. She was transferred to harefield hospital which is the specialist heart hospital. It was a miracle that she survived and now will be classed as disabled for the rest of her life.
Whilst in hospital in a critical condition she was still trying to sort out the finances for the house but she couldn’t keep it up and now she is in arrears on everything. They have increased all mortgages so she can’t afford to pay them, she now has loans and credit cards which she also cant pay. All houses have decreased in value. One is £10,000 negative equity. One would just break even. The one she lives in would make £20,000 if sold but she would then have no where to live. The only way she would get out of this mess is to sell the house my dad is in but she refuses to do it because a) it will leave him homeless b) he said he would refuse to leave, and c) she fears he will commit suicide. Now whether any of these things are true or not is irrelevant. She WILL NOT sell it and there is no persuading her otherwise. Plus at the moment she cannot sell any as they are all in arrears and soon they will all be up for repossession.
She is getting disability allowance from the government but this isn’t enough to cover it plus they are giving her even less because in there eyes she owns four properties so does not need the money. My dad would never seek help for his mental illness as he does not believe he has one.
The issue now is that my mum has asked me to put her house and my dads house in to my name, which would mean i take over the mortgages. This isn’t because she wants to pass the buck, it’s because she feels she can afford these two mortgages and by handing them to me it will also reduce the payments quite dramatically and she can then declare herself bankrupt and just concentrate on paying those. My concern is what happens if/when she can’t pay them, I certainly cannot afford to pay them myself, I will go in to arrears myself and I live with my partner and his which this will affect. My partner is also totally against this idea and we have already had numerous arguments about this. I fear he will leave me if I do this as his main concern is protecting the future of his child.
What do I do? Help my mum out and risk my own livelihood or sit back, comfortable and safe whilst watching my parents fall apart?
I can’t afford mortgages
The child is my partners not mine

One day 2 blondes decided to drive to Disney Land. When they saw a sign that said ‘Disney Land left’ they turned around and went home.

A blonde goes into a Best Buy. She asks a clerk if she can buy the TV in the corner. The clerk looks at her and says that he doesn’t serve blondes, so she goes back home and dyes her hair black.
The next day she returns to the store and asks the same thing and again the clerk said he doesn’t serve blondes.
Frustrated, the blonde goes home and dyes her hair yet again, to a shade of red. Sure that a clerk would sell her the TV this time, she returns and asks a different clerk this time. To her astonishment, this clerk also says that she doesn’t serve blondes. The blonde asks the clerk, "How do you know I am a blonde?"
The clerk looks at her disgustedly and says,"That’s not a TV – it’s a microwave."

A. Why do blondes always smile during lightning storms?
Q. They think their picture is being taken.

A man was trimming his bushes. His neighbor (the blonde) walks out, checks her mail only to see that it’s empty, and goes back inside.
Five minutes later, she comes back out, checks her mail again only to see that it’s still empty, and goes back in.
The third time she comes out, the man asks her, "Excuse me, is there a problem?"
The blonde replies, "Darn right there’s a problem! My computer keeps on telling me ‘I’ve got mail’!"

A. Why can’t Blondes dial 911?
Q. They can’t find the 11 on the phone!

A young blonde woman is distraught because she fears her husband is having an affair, so she goes to a gun shop and buys a handgun. Then one day she comes home and finds her husband in bed with a beautiful redhead. She grabs the gun and holds it to her own head. The husband jumps out of bed, begging and pleading with her not to shoot herself. Hysterically the blonde responds to the husband, "Shut up…you’re next!"

Did you hear about the two Blondes that were found frozen to death in their car at the drive-in movie theater?
They went to see "Closed for Winter".

Once there was a blonde who was going to take flying lessons, so she went to the airport to rent a plane. The manager told her there were no planes left so she would have to use a helicopter. So the blonde got in the helicopter and took off. Every 10 miles she checked in with the manager; after the first 10 miles, she said it was a blast. When she reached 20 she told him that she had never seen so many buttons. But when she reached 30 miles she didn’t check in so the manager went to rescue her. When he found her he asked her how she crashed. The blonde replied, "It was getting cold so I turned off the big fan."

My boyfriends parents are in a right mess, the long and short of it is… they sold their bungalow, moved to spain to their log cabin, the company building left it half built and ran off half way through, leaving them and the other people on the site in dire straits, they had to pay above odds to complete the house and now they’ve been told the land does not belong to them and they need to be off soon. Its going to cost a fortune to move the house and erect it somewhere else, money they don’t have now, they are living on soup and losing so much weight, it’s horrible to see it really is. They can’t afford to come back and they can’t afford to stay. I thought maybe they could sell the house at a slight loss, then buy a cheaper mobile home on a nice site in Spain and have some money left over to live on. Does anyone know of some nice sites near Alicante, or of a site where they can rent a cheap plot to put their cabin on? I would really appreciate any help you can give.

Ok I live in the Uk, I have 2 housemates. One is a real problem, he has so many debts its ridiculous I would not have moved in with him had I known. He ows hundreds in water, electricity and now over a thousand in rent.
We are on a joint tenancy and were unaware till now that each of guarantors is liable to pay the missing rent. So now me and my good housemate ave recieved letters from the estate agents threating legal action in 14 days if the guy dont pay his rent.
WTF!
Are we responsible for his rent? Hos does that work?
And secondly because of all this he went to live with his parents for a month and is now saying he will come back to pick up his stuff because he wants to premanetly move back.
We suspect he is going to try and run away and leave us to pay all his rent,(we still have 3 months left so it will be a lot more then the thousand it is already.)

What should we do? There is no way he can pay his debts and he has nothing but debt left here for him so I think he trying to run away.
Shuld we sell his stuff? Without his consent? I really dont know what to do, I dont want to get in trouble and there is no way, no way in hell we are paying his rent.

Please help, thanks in advance

One week ago. We have had problems for some time now. He is 24 and just doesn’t seem to want to grow up. We have rent to pay, he has his dog, he has to buy a new vehicle. I relied on him a lot because his wage was much better than mine.
But he has been abusive emotionally and I decided I had enough.
So, he left me with nothing, not any food or anything. I was starving. I managed to sell the tv so I could eat.
Now I am getting my strength back and decided that I am going to get a better paying job and I will go it alone here.
My husband messaged me yesterday to collect his things he said if I didn’t give them to him he will get a police escort. So do you know what I did? I washed , dried and folded all of it, and placed it neatly in bags, and enclosed a card wishing him all the best in his life.
Haven;t heard from him and I doubt I ever will. But what I am wanting to know is, is there any chance he may realise what he has done in this time away from me, or do you think this is a guy who I will never hear from ever again? I am in Canada I am from England and so I immigrated here he sponsored me.
Any advice appreciated. Would like your input. I am very lonely.
Hi Diane,
My email address is carrie.ohanlon@yahoo.co.uk, would love to email back and forth. Really appreciate your knowledge on this.

My Husband has always gambled since before I knew him 10 years ago! He kept it hidden for the first year of being together. He stops for months at a time saying he will never do it again but always goes back to it! We are married with a 4 year old and a 14 week old. It is now the worst ever! We have NOTHING!! He has lost everything. We drive around in a car that probably isn’t safe for small children with illegal tyres! My family won’t have anything to do with him but don’t know he gambles but know I am unhappy. His father owns our house and we rent it from him but haven’t paid rent in months so he now is thretening to sell and I can’t blame him! We honestly don’t have a penny so feel trapped because I couldn’t leave if I wanted to as have NO money! Can’t get any credit a srating soooo poor. I do love him as when not gambling the nicest person I know but when gambling a horrible bully. I can’t take it anymore but what can I do? I went to the citizens advice bureau but they just said sort finances out first! But I can’t!
What should I do? Please don’t answer if not trying to offer serious advice as at the end of my tether.

I have a 3year fixed rate mortgage which doesn’t end until sept 2011. I will be finishing my current job (i was on a temporary contract) in a few days and realise i am not going to be able to afford my bills and mortgage etc and i have not found another job yet.
I would like some advice on what to do, i have no savings, i know my house value has decreased by around 10k so selling it doesn’t seem to be an option + all the estate agent fees that i would en cur would make it worse.
Are there any such thing as being able to give the property back to the lender to sell, i have heard of an agreement of handing the keys back?
Are there companies that can take over my property? or companies that will rent out my house for me, without me being too or at all involved?
what would happen if i was evicted or the house was re possessed or if i went bankrupt?
i am only 20yrs old and i no longer wish to own my own home so i am not fighting to keep it, i am happy to not keep the house but do not wish this to have too much debt etc, i do understand that this will not be painless and i am under no illusions i just want to know what my options are?

any advice is much appreciated.
