If a landlord puts up a house for sale that is being rented, does he/she have to lower rent?

I'm renting a room in a house that is on the market. The landlords recently raised our rent. I heard that it may be illegal to raise the rent on a house that is for sale, but I am unable to find any proof of it. Any information would be great.

My sister is currently under a rent-to-own contract for my house. I am considering refinancing (I pay more $ than she pays me because of an adjustable interest rate) and wondered if I should/could refinance into her name so she can have the house. Her credit isn't that great and the contract is up in 4 months. I don't think she'll be able to buy it then, but I thought refinancing might help. Can I do this? Will my name come off the title? Will it help her buy the house? Will I be able to refinance in her name for the agreed upon sale price? Thanks for your help!

the house I rent is for sale, and is listed as commercial property, how would it’s sale affect my lease?

We recently re-signed our lease for a 1 year term beginning Aug 1 06, shortly thereafter, our landlord placed the property up for sale. Our property is zoned commercial and I think that's why he did so. Should someone other than a prospective landlord purchase the house, where does that leave our lease?

I currently rent a house which the owner decided to short sale. And by short sale, the owners stopped paying their mortgage for the last 3 months while i continued to pay my rent to them. I made an offer to purchase the house. With my offer already in place, do I still have to pay the rent while waiting for their lenders decision if they will take my offer?

I found an add for a great flat at a good price on the website of an agent in London. I visited the flat and liked it so I went to the agent's office and picked up the paperwork to fill up. I paid the holding deposit. I am now supposed to send all the application documents by August 11th (the date I am scheduled to move in).

When I returned home, I found on the internet an add on the website of another agent for exactly the same flat (same address, ground floor, I compared the pictures and it's identical) only this time it is for sale.

How do you explain this? Is this a scam? Does that mean that I will move in and a couple of months later they can ask me to move out if the flat has been sold? Should I even apply for the flat at all? I'm confused and frustrated. Please help me.

I am renting a small apartment and am looking for something bigger. There are not a lot of rental properties in my (rural) area but I see a TON of houses For Sale and Vacant(some for at least a yr) and wonder if Owners/Brokers/Agents ever rent these out?

Does anyone know of any bakeries for sale or rent?
